Please note that AI summaries are not available for Singapore Law Reports (SLRs).
Note that LawNet excludes summaries below a threshold level of perceived factual accuracy.
There are 3 trust and safety features available.
1 – Low Confidence paragraphs
Highlights entire paragraphs in pink to indicate that caution should be applied as the generated paragraph might not be as well substantiated with the source document text.
2 – Unmatched Entities
Indicates specific terms in the summary that cannot be found in the source document. For example, this could be an individual’s name spelled in initials instead of their full name.
3 – Highlight Matching Paragraphs
Cross-reference paragraphs between the generated summary and the source document, activate it via “Highlight Matching Paragraph” button and toggle with the up and down buttons through paragraphs
Rate the generated summary through the thumbs up or down button or leave a comment, all these ratings will be reviewed internally to improve the model’s output.

LawNet AI Summaries are AI generated summaries for unreported court judgements with the same structure as headnotes found in the Singapore Law Reports. The summaries are generated with partner, IMDA’s GPT-Legal.

3. What can LawNet AI Summaries do?
There are 4 trust and safety features available with LawNet AI summaries.
- Low confidence paragraphs – indicates when a paragraph might not be well substantiated with the source document
- Unmated entities – this indicates when there are terms in the summary that might be hallucinated
- Highlight matching paragraphs – helps to cross-reference paragraphs between the summary and the source document
- Summary’s fact score – Fact Score is used as a measure of factual consistency for the generated summary.

4. Can I upload contracts and ask questions like ChatGPT?
Currently, LawNet AI Summaries does not support user-uploaded documents or interactive Q&A capabilities similar to ChatGPT. It was designed to focus on summarizing unreported judgements in a headnotes structure found in Singapore Law Reports.
5. How accurate are the summaries?
LawNet publishes only summaries with a fact score above 90% indicated for each summary. These summaries are meant to provide a summary for unreported judgements, to assist in assessing if the judgement might be relevant to your legal analysis. It should not replace thorough legal analysis and due diligence.
6. Where can I find these AI summaries?
AI summaries are available directly in the unreported judgements on LawNet.
Step 1 – Go to Lawnet.com/research
Step 2 – Filter for “Judgements” only and uncheck the following content categories:
- “Singapore Law reports”
- “Law reports”
Step 3 – Copy and paste a specific judgement citation into the search bar if you have one in mind, for example, [2024] SGHC 173
Step 4 – Click on relevant result
The AI summary will appear on the right if the relevant document has one generated. If not, it means that there isn’t an AI summary for the selected document.
7. How can I provide feedback on AI Summaries?
We value your feedback! Submit comments, suggestions, and ratings through the “Feedback” function in the AI Summary section. The LawNet team will review your feedback to make improvements.
